Nightingale Scholarships
Education support to vulnerable candidates to complete their PLE, senior 4 and senior 6 classes and ensure two best performing beneficiaries, from previous year, attend and complete their next level of formal education.
Activity 1: Provision of financial support to complement the contributions of parents or guardians towards education fees and requirement – enabling the girls to complete primary, secondary, and tertiary education. It is envisaged that by 2030, at least 100 schoolgirls will benefit and receive certificates of completion of different levels of formal education. The planned number of beneficiaries are indicated in the Table below:

Activity 2: Mentoring Programs for career guidance and examination preparation to help the candidates complete the specific level of formal education with satisfactory performance. The initiative will involve attaching a mentor to each student; conducting holiday mentoring sessions that bring the students together for peer review; sharing success stories; and building consensus on solutions to challenges in pursuit of the career goals




Activities to Date:
- 1st Cohort, 2024 – 11 candidates for primary leaving education from 5 schools in Nakirebbe, Kirengente sub-county, Mpigi.
- 2nd Cohort – 2025 – 11 candidates: 4 in PLE in two schools; 3 as continuing students in Senior 1 in two schools, and 4 in senior 4 in two schools.
- Book Loan Scheme since 2024.
- A Session on Review of Academic Performance and Examination Preparation – 2024
- Counselling seminar on Career Guidance Examination Preparation- 6th September 2025
