About the founder

The Florence N. Kuteesa Foundation LTD was founded in October 2023 with a seed grant from the savings of the founder, Ms. Florence Nightingale Kuteesa who is committed to pursue her legacy in Nakirebe Village in Mpigi District.
The Founder is an economist passionate about girls attaining their career aspirations and economic advancement of women. Throughout her 40-year career, she has helped prioritization of women in development programs in Uganda and anglophone countries in Africa; and supported women and youth realize their career aspirations and economic empowerment.
She is a retired national and international civil servant who has served in the Ugandan Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (1982-2004), Price Waterhouse Coopers (2005-2006); Fiscal Affairs Department, in International Monetary Fund (2007-2016) and engaged with several NGOs, namely CEEWA-U, ACODE, FOWODE and CSBAG in pursuit of gender responsive decision making and accountability for government funded programs.
She is currently serving as an independent consultant in management of public funds and convinced that her legacy in form of values, principles and life experiences underpin her insurmountable career and empowerment accomplishments.
Accordingly, she felt it befitting to establish her Foundation to aid both the vulnerable adolescent female students complete their formal education; and support their transformation into self-esteemed, competent, and employable persons with knowledge and skills to manage the challenges and threats posed by dynamic socio-economic environment. She motivates the parents and guardians to pursue lucrative businesses to afford best performing schools for their children
