Empowering Young Minds (EYM)
Empowering Young Minds (EYM): Main thrust is to equip adolescents in and out of school with knowledge and skills to unleash their potential and transform them into confident, self-esteemed, mentally stable, self-reliant, and basic information technology and computer literate.
Activities will include:
1) Annual Youth Empowerment Forum for adolescents to interact freely with career counsellors, educationist, professionals, role models and motivational speakers on matters relevant to their personal and career development, as well as adoption to a dynamic socio-economic environment.
2) Production and circulation of Information Communication and Education Materials on critical subjects relevant to a holistic transformation of adolescents into self-reliant adults. These can be motivational videos, pamphlets and stories by the youth, etc
3) Support youth to acquire knowledge and skills for specific occupations and entrepreneurship through securing internships/ attachments and engagement in income generation activity. The main thrust is expose them to real working environment to enhance their appreciation of a workplace, work ethics, and needs for employability plus productivity. This will be undertaken by the Foundation in collaboration with government and non-state actors in the community.
